Our classroom temperature varies throughout the day. It is a good ideas to bring a light jacket on Target class day. We also have a new lunch time: 11:50 to 12:20. We will sit at table 7 in the middle of the cafeteria.
Monday- 2nd Graders: Students were introduced to the book The 7 Habits of Happy Kids, by Covey. This book guides our affective domain lessons. We began our algebra unit of patterns in our world. Students are to create a pattern for homework and be ready to share on Monday 8-24.
Tuesday- 4th Graders: The students brought in amazing cars and parts to use for their STEM experiment. 8-25 will be competition day. Students also were introduced to the next big step in Hands on Equations: the white pawn that represents star. Star and X are always opposites. Students also completed the Student Learning Objective(SLO) target test.
Wednesday- 3rd Graders: The students were introduced to several new things: Via characteristics and traits, which will be our affective domain lessons, coding using symbols, and Hands on Equations. The students were very excited about the new things. Students were given log in information for the coding website we will be using in class.
Thursday: 5th Graders: The students shared their "Top 10 Things About Shakespeare" and began using the negative number cubes in Hands On Equations. We completed a Quote Fall logic puzzle that was a quote of Shakespeare's.
Friday: 1st Graders: We continued out Da Vinci study by reading the 1st chapter of the Magic Tree House book. Students also began their 1st logic puzzle. Lastly we viewed a short video about Da Vinci's life.
