Thursday, 9-3
5th graders began the day explaining the meaning of a Shakespeare quote and a time they experienced it. Next they viewed the book, "The Girl That Never Made a Mistake." a discussion of fixed and growth mindset followed. Students then self-rated their own mindset and completed a reflection page. Several students need to complete the page for homework. The highlight of the day may have been the Tableaux of scenes from Romeo and Juliet. Students were then introduced to the Tic Tac Toe Shakespeare projects board. Each student is to choose 3 activities to complete by September 17th. One of the activities will be presented to the class on the 17th. The day concluded with a look at Improv and a word search.
Homework: Begin working on 3 activities from Tic Tac toe board. Class time will be given next week. However, some work will need to be completed independently at home.
Wednesday 9-2
3rd graders learned about curiosity and how curious they rate. They created a program for their robot and were able to see the robot in action. The excitement was fantastic! Next the students solved a challenging logic puzzle. They finished the day by solving beginning level Hands on Equation problems. Ask you student about legal moves. We actually can "show" the legal moves.

2nd graders began the week of target classes by working with Venn diagrams, linear patterns, and learning how to put 1st things 1st. Ask your student what "Pokey" the porcupine learned about studying. The class also presented their Sorting Machines. All groups were able to create sorting boxes but struggled with the filtering of the sizes. We all agreed it was very challenging but a great learning experience.
