5th Grade - We continued our study of William Shakespeare and his works. Students worked on their Tic-Tac-Toe board projects and then create tableaux scenes from Romeo and Juliet. They were fantastic! Next we worked a logic puzzle and continued with Hands on Equations. Students will be learning to work with negative numbers the next time we meet.
Homework- 2 Tic-Tac-Toe projects. One project will be presented to the class on September 8th.
4th Grade- Students created their model cars based on their design plans. Then the "ramp/hill" test was conducted. We put our evaluative thinking skills to work trying to find the best design for speed and distance. We also participated in a game called "What's your value?" Students had to hold a number card on their forehead without looking at it. Then they had to walk around and interact with the other students. The other students were to respond to each other based on the "value of the card." Students learned a lot about self-confidence as well as the terrible feeling of being judged or being the judger. The discussion after the game showed our class really values character not looks!
